What is Crossbar? Next try ..

#1

Alright, here is my latest attempt at explaining: "What is Crossbar.io?"

https://github.com/crossbario/crossbar#crossbario

I'd love to hear any feedback if I made progress or less so;)

Cheers,

Hi Tobias,

  1. I find the ‘cross-layer integration’ vertical axis in the diagram lacking explanation on the page. Maybe adding terms or divisions like ‘client/server’ or ‘user device(agents) apps/datacenter apps’ might help?
  2. HTML5 seems like a language to me, so I’d expect it to be in between the Python/Node.js/C++ blocks at the bottom.
  3. In the section ‘Multi-process Architecture’, is a ‘node controller process’ what you called previously on the page an ‘application component’? I find that also on the Architecture page https://github.com/crossbario/crossbar/wiki/Architecture the term ‘node’ is not really explained. But at least it describes ‘node controller process’ a little bit further.
  4. In the section ‘Benefits’, the part of the sentence 'and in particular allows to ’ might be changed into ‘and in particular allows you to’ in order to engage the reader more.

Hi Roger,

thanks a lot for reviewing!

Hi Tobias,

1. I find the 'cross-layer integration' vertical axis in the diagram
lacking explanation on the page. Maybe adding terms or divisions
    like 'client/server' or 'user device(agents) apps/datacenter apps'
    might help?

I have added 2 new paragraphs explaining "cross-layer integration" and "cross-language integration"

2. HTML5 seems like a language to me, so I'd expect it to be in between
the Python/Node.js/C++ blocks at the bottom.

Yes, we treat HTML5 like a language/run-time. In this diagram, it is positioned at the top (besides "Android") since it is part of the "frontend layer".

3. In the section 'Multi-process Architecture', is a 'node controller
process' what you called previously on the page an 'application
component'? I find that also on the Architecture
    page https://github.com/crossbario/crossbar/wiki/Architecture the
term 'node' is not really explained. But at least it describes 'node
controller process' a little bit further.

I'll expand on these in the page.

4. In the section 'Benefits', the part of the sentence 'and in
particular allows to ' might be changed into'and in particular
allows you to' in order to engage the reader more.

Fixed
