how to combine Crossbar (pub/sub)+ message queue ?

#1

Hi guys,

I am currently trying to build a little project prototype using Crossbar. The idea is not new, having a bunch of producers and consumers sending and receiving messages between them using a pub/sub pattern. These producers and consumers are some connected devices, a UI and several workers processing specific data.

The initial plan is using RabbitMQ because a broker is needed and queueing messages is a must. However after comparing both Crossbar and RabbitMQ I find Crossbar much more… let’s say intuitive to work with. Anyway, I want to give Crossbar a try before jumping directly to the rabbit so I would like to know if you have any suggestion, recommendation or experience in such a scenario.

Thanks!

PS. Everything would be developed with Python.

Hi Dan,

When you say queuing is a “must”, can you give some context?

(i.e. why, what’s likely to get overrun and by how much?)
