Can't connect to websocket server

#1

Hi,
I’m using autobahn js to connect a webapp to a wamp server.
My code used to work fine, but since this morning I can’t connect and I’m getting the following error:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) http://autobahn.s3.amazonaws.com/js/autobahn.min.jsUncaught ReferenceError: ab is not defined screen.php:23

Do you have any idea what happend?

Thanks in advance

John

Some changes have been made to the amazon hosted version of autobahn. Have a look at posts from the last few days should help.

Yes: pls see the thread "AutobahnJS on S3: excessive traffic".

In essence, a high-volume site deeplinked to our S3 file, causing us 200GB volume last month.

We put up AutobahnJS onto S3 for _development_ purposes.

For production, please host it on your server.

I am sorry for the inconvenience, but we simply cannot take the risk of someone with even higher traffic causing us TBs of traffic (we _pay_ for that, and sorry, we (Tavendo) are not Google who doesnt care).

Somewhat naively, we didn't expect that to happen, but the numbers just multiply: AutobahnJS (minified) is very small, but multiply with 10Mio and it gets significant.

If you (and others) care, we might look for (free) CDN hosting ..

sorry,

/Tobias

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m using autobahnjs for a small project not for production.
I would like to ask you how can I host autobahnjs on my own server.

Download the file (via browser) by visiting
http://autobahn.s3.amazonaws.com/js/autobahn.min.js

Upload the file to your Web server, e.g. you could have

index.php
js/autobahn.min.js

on your server.

Then just do:

<script src="/js/autobahn.min.js"></script>

inside `index.php` instead of the old script tag.

PS:
You should also get away by directly logging into your server and do:

cd /my/web/server/docroot/js
wget http://autobahn.s3.amazonaws.com/js/autobahn.min.js
