Cannot run the corssbar.io hello nodejs sample

#1

Hi everyone. I’m trying to run the hello nodejs sample application from a Windows 8.1 environment. I succesfully created the app, instaled the node dependencies but when i start the app (crossbar app), i get this error:

[Controller 7648] Worker 4876: Process connection gone (A process has ended with a probable error condition: process ended with exit code -1073741819.).

``

I basically just followed the instructions here: http://crossbar.io/docs/Getting-started-with-NodeJS/

Here is the complete log when i run ‘crossbar start’:

Hi Nathan!

I just ran the demo on a Windows 8.1 machine and cannot replicate this. As far as I can see from the log, the entire startup works as it should, with both the router worker (‘worker1’) and the node.js module (‘worker2’) being run, as well as the Twisted Web server starting. The warnings are OK - I get the same ones on my basic test install on the Windows 8.1 machine.

It’s only then that the router worker ends.

Can you run the identical config in a different environment (e.g. a Windows 7 machine) to check if the problem is specific to your machine?

Sorry I can’t be of more help at the moment, but as I said, I can’t replicate this here.

Regards,

Alex

Hi,

first, thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, i cannot easily test in another environment but i guess the problem is related to my machine since you cannot replicate my issue. I’m going to fix the warnings anyway and try to play around to see if i can somehow fix my issue.

I just tried to run the python templates and i have a different result. When i run ‘crossbar start’, everything is working fine and the ‘oncounter’ event is published, nice. However, as soon as i run the frontend (hence, as soon it tries to connect), i get the same error (with a bit of twisted traceback):

When i run the nodejs, i don’t get to see the ‘oncounter’ event being published in the logs certainly due to the fact that it tries to establish the connection straight away.
