Any interest in an url-based handler?

#1

Hi,

Autobahn seems like an interesting project for a websocket cms project
i'm working on. It currently uses txwebsocket(hybi-10 and hixie 76)
and a custom url-handler that mimicks django's way of handling url's
over websockets. Would it be possible to have this kind of protocol
handling in autobahn as well? More info about it at http://hwios.org/docs/core/hwm.html

kind regards,

Jeroen

Hello Jeroen,

actually, there is something like this already:

http://www.tavendo.de/autobahn/tutorial/rpc.html

You can map Python methods (or any callables) using a decorator
to RPC URIs for that methods, and also have call arguments
and call results automatically marshalled.

Also see:

http://www.tavendo.de/autobahn/protocol.html

This is RPC. I am still working out the PubSub stuff,
but that will also work with URIs (for topics).

Also, there is already a JavaScript library for doing
RPC/PubSub via the above, so you can call Python from
JavaScript in the browser. It's in above tutorial. There
are also more tutorials.

Currently, I'm baking the Android Java version of all that.

The end goal is to have clients for: JS, Python, Android/Java

Will take some time ..

Ragards,
Tobias
