alternative to crossbarconnect

#1

Hi,

For some lightweight apps who just want to publish crossbarconnect was a rather useful python module to simplify thist task.

The beauty of this module is it’s tiny size.
Since october 19th this package disappeared from the net (no more installable with pypi)

On github I found only a cloned repository, ( https://github.com/feenes/crossbarconnect ) but no more the original one.
and also found a place where to download a pip installable package from:

https://feenes.teledomic.eu/pypkg/crossbarconnect-0.5.3.tgz
however pip does not seem to like the certificate of this server (SNI problems??? works fine with my browser)
so another link can be used
http://klaud.teledomic.eu/pypkg/crossbarconnect-0.5.3.tgz

If possible I’d prefer to use code, that’s still alive and that is still known / recommended by the official crossbar.io site.

What leightweight solution would be recommded today for simple python apps, that do NOT use twisted / asyncio or any other heavy library.

thanks in advance for any advice

Hi!

I’ll look into why this has disappeared.

You may want to take a look at https://github.com/thehq/python-crossbarhttp which is under active development and offers more features,

Regards,

Alex

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for your reply.

The repositry you mention is about 28 days old and last change 15 days ago. which is a life time of two weeks.
Looking at the first git commit of this module it seems it was only created as crossbarconnect has already disappeared at this time.

Extract from the README:
I wanted to enhance “crossbarconnect” but the repository is no where to be found, so I created this one.

Though the changes are trivial I’d love to be able to pip install crossbarconnect for my old projects.
For new ones I’m completely open to use python-crossbarhttp or crossbarconnectwhichever will be the one being better supported.
depending on which of the modules will ‘survive’ or have a higher visibility.
